Minds Matter Boston has been a huge part of my life over the past five years, and I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact it has on students’ futures. Helping young people find and thrive at their best-fit college is truly a team effort, and MMB provides the mentorship, structure, and encouragement to make that possible. I’m proud to run Boston in support of a community that helps students dream and achieve big.

Fun Fact: Boston 2026 will be my 9th marathon and the final stop in completing all six World Marathon Majors.

While my weekdays are consumed working in advertising, my weekends are focused on training for the 2026 Boston Marathon. I’ve been a runner most of my life after realizing that my favorite days on the soccer field were spent running and conditioning. From there, it was all long distance - I like to say I'm not fast, I'm well-endured! After watching the NYC Marathon, I was inspired to run the DC Marine Corps Marathon in 2014. I swore I was done, and 3 years later I signed up for the NYC Marathon.  After saying "Never again!" I decided to complete the six Abbott World Major Marathons! Boston will be my 6th in the series and my 8th overall marathon. I'm so proud to get to run with Minds Matter Boston and look forward to getting involved with my local NYC Chapter!

As a first-generation college graduate from a low-income background, MMB’s mission resonates with me. I was fortunate to find a program similar to MMB, which guided me through high school and helped me navigate the college applications process.

Those years were transformative in helping me realize that a college education was within my reach. Organizations like MMB are needed, transformative for first-generation and low-income students, and successful in accomplishing their mission. Together, we can empower students to chase their dreams!

Born and raised in Mexico, I left home at 15 to pursue broader educational and professional opportunities outside of the country. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to complete high school and college in the U.S., begin my career in investment banking in New York, and ultimately join Summit Partners as an investment professional in Boston. My journey has only been possible thanks to the support of many individuals and organizations along the way. MMB’s mission resonates deeply with me, and I’m proud to support an organization that creates opportunities for others to pursue their own ambitions and have an equal chance at success.

I’m someone who thrives with great mentors in my corner. From guidance counselors who introduced me to opportunities, to professors who pushed me to dream bigger, to managers who helped me find my early career-footing, I know how life-changing good guidance can be.

That’s what drew me to MMB. As a mentor to two amazing students, I get to see their confidence grow week by week; I can’t wait to see how they evolve over the next year and a half. I love being in a community that opens doors, cheers each other on, and helps students see how far they can go. MMB reminds me that a little support can make a big difference.
