Minds Matter Boston was featured on NBC10’s The Hub! Executive Director Gregory Chery appeared on the program highlighting the amazing achievements of our students, staff, and volunteers.
When asked about what makes Minds Matter Boston so unique, he answered
“It starts with our model. We have a very high touch, high yield model. We work with our students from September to May. We meet with them every Saturday. We provide them with test prep. We provide them with writing courses. We provide each of them with a mentor that’s also there on Saturday with them. So those mentors commit - one to some, many of them, three - years with our students from sophomore year of high school until they graduate to college. So our mentors are really our secret sauce. But it starts with our young people. They are resilient. They are high achieving. They’re doing great work at their high school. They just need a little push. So our program just creates that push and opens those doors and provides additional resources for them in addition to their high school.”
